FITNESS PROGRAMMING UPDATE

We are pleased to share an update and the steps we are taking to provide increased programming for the over 300 daily guests we have the pleasure of welcoming to our Y every day.

On December 5th, Gilbert returns as our water fitness instructor. Classes will resume on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In addition, our Yoga classes will be offered in our small gym, and we are increasing the capacity to 15 participants for all Yoga classes, 9 participants for cycling, and 16 participants for water fitness classes.

For members, where our Monday cycling class is not convenient, we are exploring installing a Keiser Bike and LifeFitness Heat Row Machine in both our wellness center and the Spirit, Mind, and Body room, located just outside the cycling room, later this month.

We are diligently working to hire fitness instructors and personal trainers. Our goal is to double the number of fitness offerings. Starting in the new year, reservations will no longer be required to access our general facility amenities such as the wellness center, track, or spirit, mind, and body room. However, reservations will still be required for programs. Details are provided below in our updated reservation policy.

For the past year, we have been working towards our Praesidium Child Abuse Prevention accreditation. As a part of our child safety facility improvements, we will be installing a new card reader to access the boys locker room. More details will be provided to those members affected upon completion of the improvements.

And there is more to come over the next two months including the reopening of our gyms, introducing pickleball as a new offering, bringing back guest and day passes, Child Watch, and so much more. Be on the lookout for more details and updates in the coming weeks.

UPDATE TO RESERVATION POLICY

Reservations are no longer required to access the facility including the Wellness Center, Track, and the Spirit, Mind, and Body space.

Please note that we will continue to require reservations for programs including:
 • Lap, family, and open swim
 • All fitness programming including cycling, yoga, group fitness, and water fitness
 • Programs in the gym including family/open gym, basketball, pickleball, etc.
 • Fitness Consultations and Wellness Center Orientations

For your, and other members, convenience, we strongly encourage all members to make their reservations before arriving to the Y to ensure your spot, avoid any delays at the front desk, and ensure our staff can efficiently serve our members. Classes are set to a maximum capacity and cannot exceed these capacity limits to ensure a quality and safe experience. If you require assistance with making your reservation, please email [email protected] or call our membership team at 708-383-5200.

Update to cancellations and waitlist procedure

It is important to understand that if you are placed on the waitlist, your reservation is not confirmed. Once a participant cancels their reservation, the next person on the waitlist will receive an email confirming their reservation for the class.

If you have a reservation and you cannot attend, please call the front desk, or cancel your reservation via our reservation system as soon as you know you cannot attend class. Emails are not an acceptable method to cancel your reservation as staff likely will not see email prior to the class starting.

Please note, members, who do not cancel their reservation in advance, will have their reservation privileges suspended after 3 no shows no cancellation occurrences in a two-week period resulting in not being able to make a reservation for two weeks.

When a cancellation is made, by calling our front desk at 708-383-5200, with less than 30 minutes before the start of the class, our membership team will call the next person on the waiting list.

After 5 minutes of a class being scheduled to begin, individuals waiting outside the class will be allowed to join the class until it reaches capacity; waitlisted members receive priority before walk-ins.
